Reviews

What owners around Ashwell say.

Feedback from owners we have built for between Ashwell village, Mill Street and Station Road.

I had been picking up scraps from two builders for years. The site went live in a week and by week five I was quoting my own garden jobs out at Station Road and Ashwell End off the back of Google.

Gary L.

Landscaping & driveways, West End

One price, no monthly bill, and someone who actually picked the phone up when I got stuck. Most of my new orders now come from people who found me on the map rather than a card left in the window of the shops on the High Street.

Ruth McK.

Kitchen fitter & joinery, High Street, Ashwell

Half my work sits along the High Street and out toward Guilden Morden and nobody had written a word for those roads. They gave Mill Street, Station Road and Church Lane their own pages and I now get calls from all three, which never used to happen.

How it works

Call on day one, rankings by day nineteen.

  1. Step 01

A 15 minute call, no pitch

You tell us what jobs you actually want more of. We pull up what people in the High Street, Mill Street, Church Lane, West End and Station Road are typing and show you where you sit today.

  2. Step 02

Your site goes live in 5 days

We design it, write it and build it. Your services, your photos, your area. Nothing pre-made and nothing you have to write yourself.

  3. Step 03

Then 14 days of ranking work

the High Street, Mill Street, Church Lane, West End, Station Road, Ashwell Springs, Bear Lane and Ashwell End each get their own page, and your Google profile is rebuilt to match the site.

One price, nothing to choose

£900 to £2,000, all in.

A one van trade working out of Ashwell sits at the bottom of that range. A firm with six services and a dozen towns to cover sits nearer the top. Website, writing, local SEO and the Google profile are inside the number either way. No retainer, no second invoice later.

Why us

Why Ashwell businesses pick us.

  • 01

We are up the road, not in a call centre

Our base is Hoddesdon, a straight run across on the A414 and M1. We know Hertfordshire, we know which trades are busy in Ashwell and we know how far people here will actually travel to you.

  • 02

    One service and one number

Website, local SEO and the Google profile in a single job between £900 and £2,000. Nothing is held back for a higher tier because there are no tiers.

  • 03

Written to get a phone call

Every page is laid out so a bloke standing in his kitchen with a leak can find your number in about four seconds. Pretty is nice. Ringing is the point.

  • 04

    Quick to launch, then stubborn

Live in 5 days, then two solid weeks of ranking work, and we keep an eye on positions afterwards instead of disappearing once the invoice clears.

Local knowledge

How Ashwell actually searches.

Ashwell is a proper historic village in the chalk hills of north Hertfordshire with its own High Street, the great tower of St Mary's on one side and Ashwell Springs, the source of the River Rhee, on the other. The High Street, the museum and the old Town House sit in the middle of the village, Mill Street and Church Lane take you past the timber-framed cottages down toward the springs, and then it runs out into West End, Station Road toward the Ashwell and Morden trains, Bear Lane, Gardiners Lane and Ashwell End, where the houses get larger and more private. Hardly any firms register an SG7 Ashwell address, so the village searches stay thin, but the work does not: reroofs and chimney repairs on listed cottages, oil boilers and heat pumps on the outlying houses, gravel drives and walled gardens, barn and stable conversions, and tree work along the springs and the chalk lanes that runs well into five figures.

That changes what they type. Somebody on Bear Lane with a leaking tap searches plumber Ashwell, not plumber Hertfordshire, because they want someone who can be there in ten minutes. Almost nobody has built a page for those searches, so they stay cheap while every firm fights over the one town keyword.

Ashwell sits in the chalk hills between Baldock and Royston, five minutes from the A505 and Ashwell and Morden station on the Cambridge line, so firms from all three towns quote here every day and most of them are not local at all, which makes the headline village search look busier than it really is. The upside is that the hamlet searches around it are barely contested at all. Money is not the sticking point here, trust is, so the site has to look the part before anyone calls. We build the Ashwell page properly first, then a real page for the High Street, Mill Street, Church Lane, West End, Station Road, Ashwell Springs and Bear Lane and everywhere else you cover.

The neighbourhoods, one by one

Ashwell village, the High Street, Mill Street, Church Lane, West End, Station Road, Ashwell Springs, Bear Lane and Ashwell End each written as their own page.

Two very different customers

The listed cottages and terraces along the High Street need a very different pitch to the post-war houses off Station Road, or the big private houses, paddocks and equestrian yards out around West End, Gardiners Lane and Ashwell End.

A commuter village on a phone

Most households still drive for the big shops, with Baldock, Royston and Ashwell and Morden station for the Cambridge and London trains, and the A505 for everything else. Decisions get made on a phone in the car park by the springs or out walking the chalk lanes, which makes load speed and a click to call button do real work.

Questions

What Ashwell owners ask before booking.

Straight answers, no sales script.

What does a website cost for a Ashwell business?+

Between £900 and £2,000 for everything. Where you land depends on how many services you offer and how many areas around Ashwell you want to be found in. That figure covers the website, the writing, the local SEO and the Google Business Profile work. There is no monthly retainer attached to it.

How long before the site is actually live?+

Five days from the day we start. We do not sit on a design for a month waiting for feedback. You see it, you tell us what to change, it goes live, and then the ranking work begins.

Will I show up across the whole of Ashwell, not just the town centre?+

That is the whole point of the town cluster. Ashwell gets its own page, and so do the High Street, Mill Street, Church Lane, West End, Station Road, Ashwell Springs, Bear Lane, Ashwell End and anywhere else you cover. Google needs a reason to show you for each one, so we give it a real page instead of a list of names in the footer.

I already have a website. Can you just fix it?+

Sometimes. If the site is fast and the structure is sound we can build on it. More often the quickest route is a rebuild, because the thing holding you back is not the design, it is that there is nothing on the site for Google to rank.

Do I need Google Ads on top of this?+

No. Everything here is organic. Ads stop the day you stop paying. A ranking page and a strong map listing keep working, which is why we would rather spend your budget once and leave you with something that lasts.

How soon do the calls start?+

Usually weeks 2 to 4 for the quieter trades. Ashwell is a small village list that Baldock and Royston firms keep leaking into, so the Station Road, Mill Street and High Street searches are still winnable inside a month. In the busier trades like builders, plumbers and roofers you are up against Baldock firms ten minutes west and Letchworth firms and Royston outfits coming the other way, so give it 4 to 8 weeks for the top three on the map. We keep working on it until you get there.
